Flat and hierarchical clustering algorithms are introduced for data exploration along with how to program these algorithms on computer clusters, followed by machine learning classification, and an introduction to graph analytics. This part closes with a concise introduction to data core-sets that let big data problems be amenable to tiny data problems.

Exercises are included at the end of each chapter in order for students to practice the concepts learned, and a final section contains an overall exam which allows them to evaluate how well they have assimilated the material covered in the book.

About the Author
Frank Nielsen is a Professor at École Polytechnique in France where he teaches graduate (vision/graphics) and undergraduate (Java/algorithms),and a senior researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories Inc. His research includes Computational information geometry for imaging and learning and he is the author of 3 textbooks and 3 edited books. He is also on the Editorial Board for the Springer Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision.

Michele loves working as a clinical hypnotherapist, helping cancer patients and others deal with pain, insomnia, anxiety, and other issues. Great for friends of patients too.

I bought this book after my friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. The intent was to give it to her as a 'gift', but after it arrived I read through it and gained so much perspective for myself as part of her support system. It's a great book with very personal touches.

A tool everyone should own

Everyone should get this valuable book packed with great tips for someone recently diagnosed with cancer. Its easy to read and will help answer questions you didnt know to ask. I got a copy for my friend with breast cancer and wished she could have had it sooner. I'm so glad to have discovered the book. I like it that the author adds some humor because humor is a great tool to help get through the rough parts of the treatment.

Great book! Let your imagination go wild!

Brilliant! The author is a skilled writer and she knows how to take your imagination to the next level.

If you're looking for something short and some "hot shifter sex" and you're team Jacob (from Twilight) then you won't have to look any further. This is probably in the head of Jacob when he's with Bella, but instead, this book gives it a thrilling tension between Bridget and Varo (the characters in the book).

Chosen by the alpha but the pack agrees.
She is a bartender and on her walk home under a full moon after her shift she hears something.
She has heard the rumor of wolves being close, so she tries to get home quick.

She doesn't make it and he wolves are a bit different than she thought they would be, at least the alpha.
She knows him from the bar and is attracted to him.
And he has chosen her as his mate and takes this to the next hot level under the eyes of his pack.

Pity the story stops there, I would have liked to read more about them together

I really wanted to like this story but kept getting distracted by the poor ...

I really wanted to like this story but kept getting distracted by the poor use of the English language. Also, the author kept switching character descriptors. In one sentence the character would be called "she". In the next she would be "the bartender", "Bridget" or "the redhead".
Here is an example the author's writing style: "She did her usual song and dance of flirting with Varo, which gave her little information about the man but left her stomach in knots, served some drinks and had a generally fine night."
Short thought it was, I could not finish it.

Awesome reading book

I bought this book for my 6 year old daughter who is in the first grade. She works very independently using this book. The instrustions are kids friendly, so they don't need to much help from us parents. This book reinforces some of the stuff your child already knows and builds on them , while pushing your child forward in the right direction. My daughter has learn so much from using this book. I just love love this book because it does what it supposed to do which is help my child read.

This book consists of these exercises: Short vowels, long vowels ,Consonant Combinations, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension. Your child will be matching pictures to the correct words, completing rhyming phrases, connecting words to the correct picture, writing words with the same ending and circling words that matches the picture. The reading consist of several short passages, which your child will read and then answer several questions about what they just read. Overall this is a great book for kids to work on their own and then use the answer sheet to the back of the book to correct their own mistakes. I highly recommend this book to home schoolers or to reinforced what child is learning in school.

Recommend for Homeschooling

My daughter has progressed very well using this as part of her home-school curriculum. We are very glad that Kumon has these workbooks available for us to use. They are a great resource for us. We also use Kumon Word Problems and Geometry & Measurement for math and recommend it as well.

Excellent book for 5 year old learning to read

Excellent book for 5 year old learning to read. My daughter started to read some 3 letter words within 2 days of starting this book. This book gives parents motivation to teach reading . I am glad for this purchase.
