The problems I had worked from this book were a notch or two more difficult than those on the exam.

This book has two parts, separately bound; the first is an overview of the multitudinous topics which the author thinks might be on the test and the second contains a practice exam with 150 problems and rationales, as they call them. I found the overview of topics unhelpful on account of the absence of associated examples and practice problems. Nevertheless, a very insightful test taking strategy section in the back partially redeems this first book.
The problem set in the second part was very helpful. The problems are accessible but challenging and the rationales are clear. I realized as I was taking the exam that the problems I had worked from this book were a notch or two more difficult than those which actually appeared on the exam which is a very good feeling.
I used this book in conjunction with problems from another book by Sharon A Wynne and the math section of a Praxis prep manual by Kaplan. Wynne's problems were helpful but not as challenging and the Kaplan was substantially more difficult albeit helpful.

Great material to study from!

I've only tried the study guide for a few days. So far, for what I've read, I like how well organized the study guide is. It is also to the point. I like how it lists the rules, procedures, etc. This is the second study guide I try because the first time I missed the test by 4 points, and I have to say this one is way better. I also like that the material is divided into 2 books, because sometimes a big study guide is just very overwhelming. Thanks!

I studied these books a week before the exam and I passed. Although they don't have many examples, they have a set of 150 questions with key answers. They have all the math concepts you need to know to prepare for the exam. I'll buy the MCAT prep for my spouse from this company.
